Windshield Removal
- Remove the 6 mounting screws. Note the most rearward screw (secured by an acorn nut) is
longer than the others.
- Remove the hex bolts to the left and right of the instrument cluster.
- Gently work the screen and trim panel free from the fairing. Note the trim panel will have
to be maneuvered around the plastic that surrounds the instrument cluster.
- With the windscreen and trim panel free of the motorcycle, push the rubber mounts through
the windscreen and trim panel. Note the position each came rubber mount came from as the front
and rear are configured differently.
Windshield Installation
- Install the rubber mounts into the new windscreen by pushing through. If the rubber compresses
too much to push through the mounting tab, pull through gently with needle-nose pliers.
- Mount the trim panel to the windscreen using the rubber mounts.
- Slide the windscreen/trim panel into place by tilting to the rear, allowing the trim panel tabs
to fit behind the plastic surrounding the instrument cluster.
- With the trim panel tabs in place, guide the windscreen into place, noting that the mount holes
line up with the fairing holes.
- Starting at the front of the windscreen, install all screws but do not tighten. The rearward
screws (secured by the acorn nut) may require that the windscreen and trim panel be adjusted slightly
so that everything lines up properly.
- When the windscreen is mounted satisfactorily, tighten all mount screws - taking care to not overtighten.
- Replace the hex bolts that were removed in Step 2.
- Clean windscreen and enjoy!
